January 24th and 25th,2009 - 2 Days - Ethical Hacking Workshop

February 2009, Chennai was the place to be if you are passionate about “Hacking to learn” or “learning to HACK”, of course in Ethical spirits. Enthusiasts from different parts of India participated in infySEC’s 2 Day Ethical Hacking Workshop, at the Benzz Park, T.Nagar, Chennai. The 10+ hours, 2 day marathon session started Saturday Morning (January 24th) and ended Sunday evening (January 25th, 2009).

The Participants where given CD’s,Certificates, and some invaluable takeaways.There were about 4 winners who did well at answering the questions thrown out during the sessions and the quizzes. The event making team was successful at making the best use of the participant’s time, involving them totally through interactive and some musical funfilled sessions. infySEC hopes that this program was not only a knowledge sharing platform, but also a cherishable memory to carry home,with few long lasting relationships.Thank you Chennai,for making this event a Grand Success !!!

August 8th and 9th,2009 - Hackintosh INDIA 2009 - Capture the Flag

The infySEC team in India organized the Hackintosh - INDIA 2009 event, Chennai became a battle ground of Cyberwar with ethical hackers around the Nation.The ‘first kind of security event combined with the concept of “Capture The Flag”, which was designed to engage attendees to learn the internals of information security and enable them to think like an attacker.infySEC claims that “A good Security Administrator has to be a good hacker”. Hackintosh - INDIA 2009 was a two-day event, packed with a long list of security topics, with cutting edge security technologies, penetration testing methodologies and case studies.Hackintosh - INDIA 2009 attracted over 60 people with different backgrounds, from students to experts from Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, Cyber crime branches, ISACA , K7 Antivirus, TCS , infosys etc.The 15+ hours, 2 day marathon session started Saturday Morning (August 8th,2009) and ended Sunday evening (August 9th, 2009).

On the day one, three industrial recognized infySEC experts:  Sunny Vaghela , Viswanathan Rangaswamy started their presentations with generic penetration testing topics like Footprinting and scanning, moved to Cryptography, Web application security, botnets, system hacking. Each presenter delivered over 3 hours presentation, with interactive Q&A sessions. Among all the exciting topics, the following topics received highest attention from the audience:

- Creating your own portscanner in less than 5 minutes
- Live SQL injection attacks
- Live Call/SMS spoofing
- Live GPS hack (mapping unsecure AP’s on google maps)
- Live web camera stream hacks
- Cookie poisoning hacks

With the excitement of getting exposed to the cutting edge hacking techniques, most attendees were busy with put on and off black hat, white hat, and grey hat. On the second day of Hackintosh - INDIA 2009, attendees show up in the conference room with their new, sharp blackhat cap, fighted with the carefully designed capture the flag competition. Capture the flag is a computer security wargame in the security arena. Each team is given a machine to attack the infySEC server within an isolated network, the infySEC team has structured the game into 10 different levels, with increasing difficulties. Teams would have to strengthen their security muscles to break into the server, by taking advantage of application or system vulnerabilities. Among all the amazing teams, K7 Antivirus Team successfully captured the flag, please join us on congratulating this group of amazing peers.

Hackintosh - INDIA 2009
was the first security event combined with the capture the flag concept, and has had successfully help attendees master the techniques in an interactive manner. We have received a lot of requests colleges, cooporate to host similar events towards their organizations, and received invites to give lectures and presentations to a list of high profile companies. We would love to recognize our marketing lead Adhavan Rajadurai for doing a tremendous job on organizing the event, our team of experts (Viswanathan, Sunny Vaghela) and our executive team putting full support on us.Last but not the least Jay Zeng, Director for infySEC for being a constant support for all the activities through.
